Five for Fighting's 100 Years:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmoE8_U-JTw

I wonder how our lives would change if we were to renumber the years of our ages... and begin life at age 100 instead of age 0, and count backwards with every year until we reached infancy.  It seems a bit Benjamin Button-esque doesn't it (though admittedly I haven't seen the film just yet and have only been familiar with the storyline). Still, I've been fascinated by the concept of living life in a backwards type of way.  For the majority of my free-thinking adult (or adult-like-ish) life, I've always had a plan... a timeline, a schedule, and a pathway in mind.  But if today was 2/11/2079, how would I want my 2/11/2009 to be like?   I'm confronted with an extraordinary fascination while thinking about this. Would I place less emphasis on day-to-day actitivies and care less about the little things?  Would I celebrate failures just as much as successes since in hindsight (or in this case, foresight) I would have experienced the end-result already? Would I be in less of a hurry to be on time? Would I be more graceful to others? Would it be easier for me to relinquish control over things? Would I pursue my dreams with more tenacity? Would I be more thankful during suffering? Would I be more patient? Would I be more like me, in the ways that I am, as opposed to who I'd hope to be?

That was my interesting thought of the day.

Okay so my predictions really didn't make it off the ground.. but all I can say now is Go Rays! (since I'd rather the Red Sox not win) and Go Dodgers! (since we know they're rivals with the Giants...) =)

Happy Tuesday, everyone... about 11 weeks til Christmas!

What a considerably warm weekend it was despite the fact that we're already a week into Autumn.  I've been taking an unofficial poll amongst friends, asking them if they're happy about the changes in weather, start of the presidential debates, nearing of the holidays, return of boot season, etc.   For me, honestly, I'm a little tired of the warm weather (am I the only one?) and definitely ready for a change in pace.  I can't wait for it to start raining and become colder and brisk outside.  (Did you hear that polar bears are beginning to cannabalize each other? I also hope researchers hurry up and find alternative ways to combat global warming!)

And on a different note: yes, the beginning of October also signals the beginning of MLB post-season.  Funny, work and my traveling scheduling has been somewhat crazy this spring/summer... so I think I attended more Giants games than A's games.  (Mainly due to hook-ups.. since I wouldn't pay to see a game at AT&T regardless of the fries, slide or... haha).  Sadly, the A's are done.  As a tribute to their efforts this season: http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=oak&partnerId=ed-2048072-55419865&source=ed-2048072-55419865

So I hope the remaining teams just hurry up,  away the rally monkies, and fill the scoreboard with sweeps every week. Wouldn't it be great to have shut-outs all day, every day?  The post-season hopefuls for 2008 are for the AL: Rays, Red Sox, Twins, LAA; and NL: Phillies, Cubbies, Brewers, Dodgers.  My predictions are: LAA vs. the Cubbies in the finals with LAA winning it all.  Haha, we'll see if how well this sticks or not.

Anyhow, happy fall everyone. The next three months are going to be exciting!
